The drives are OK and work perfectly under Win98. I forgot to get the /etc/fstab file. In fact the mount process is shown when I do a ps -ax. And it is there indefinitely. Can't even kill it with kill -9. I think, I will get the /etc/fstab tomorrow.
I even tried it without using fstab settings. mount -tvfat /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy Is there some problem if I give this command. This is what is in the man pages Regards, Venky -----Original Message----- From: Narsingh Sahu [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Tuesday, November 19, 2002 10:49 PM To: multiple recipients of Subject: Re: [ilugd]: Floppies and CDs do not mount --snip Could it be that your floppy and CDROM drive are failing, being old, and need repairs? Are they being recognised at the time of boot?
