When I try using Disk Management, I can mount all file systems through the 
GUI so atleast /etc/fstab is correct, seems some daemon has been disabled 
by my tweaking.

I agree perfectly, pathetic, it even hangs :-). Did RH ship some replacement

for it, it had everything at one place at least.
