Well Lokesh, My experience with both Mysql and Oracle says that Mysql cries when put under the same load conditions as compared to oracle on the same hardware. My programmer team had to write a couple of websites again from scratch in oracle just because Mysql was not able to handle the load. I personally feel that Apache-PHP- Oracle8i is faster under heavy load as compared to Apache-PHP-Mysql. On the same hardware, and OS. (I have Oracle8i (8.1.6) on Linux ) Kapil Sethi System Administrator BharatConnect Ltd.
