That answers it perfectly . Thank you :) > > > > Everyone in this LUG or any LUG knows how much Ubuntu has eaten the share > of > > RH based distro's . It also offers a regular installation CD set or DVD image. When I meant RPM is passe I was implying it from the fact tthat ubuntu has eaten over the share of both fedora and opensuse(for a diff reason ) . Fedora started it's spin projects and even started giving the project a new look only after it realised the stiff competition from Ubuntu . > This > is for x86, x86_64 and PPC systems and free media has been send all over > the world as well. I dunno about others .. but as a small community maintainer . I knew how easy it was to get distro cd's shipped from cannonical (shipit) in a european country compared to a fedora ambassador locally . > > > Reality check: most netbooks continue to ship with Windows out of the > box. Acer Aspire btw ships with a Fedora derivative out of the box. > No I don't have exact count of how many windows installations in netbooks are still running windows neither do I have the count of how many installations of Ubuntu remix . Well M$ does such surveys .. yeah they win and they proclaim that they rule the netbook market . As far as I know almost all of them have shifted for a ubuntu netbook version after erasing the windows .. Yes that's a small sample of users and may differ in different areas. > > This whole thread started because a user wanted to do exactly that. > Instead of dismissing real user needs as petty, Fedora chooses to > fullfill them.
