What does RHEL documentation have anything to do with Fedora? These are two different but related distributions with different people working on them. If you want to write documentation for any particular distribution, feel free to do it. > How could fedora project justify wasting it's documentation time and space > writing for windows? I am sure I can show you enormous amount of documentation for any major distribution that deals with dual booting or interoperating with Windows in various ways. That's where the majority of desktop users are currently and hence dealing with a way with work between heterogeneous systems is a obvious need. > Fedora as a community should encourage and explain the need of GNU/Linux not > say that "Linux isn't everyone's cup of tea" .. why don't you use the lines > before installation in some disclaimer or fedora license agreement :P Fedora explains what it is suitable for in the overview and doesn't claim it is suitable for everybody. Are you unable to accept that Linux may not suitable for everyone? The standard disclaimers in the free and open source licenses already state this obvious fact so there is no need to repeat it in the "license agreement" not to mention that there is no such license agreement for Fedora. > There is something called priority .. when I see a complete documentation > with step by step documentation .. The Fedora wiki on uninstalling it was written in response to http://blogs.computerworld.com/linuxs_dirty_little_secret_uninstall You seem to think that a community is monolithic entity that works on the same direction all the time. In reality, even with shared interests, volunteers work on what interests them. > Everyone in this LUG or any LUG knows how much Ubuntu has eaten the share of > RH based distro's . Instead of clarifying why, now you seem to add a number of other unrelated things. Just so that you know, Fedora offers a choice of installable live cd's of GNOME, KDE and Xfce. It also offers a regular installation CD set or DVD image. This is for x86, x86_64 and PPC systems and free media has been send all over the world as well. > Sorry didn't know about moblin . Acer Aspire btw ships with a Fedora derivative out of the box. > Finally I would say is fedora is a great distro, the community is great but > have to improve and definitely should not focus on petty issues like > "uninstall to install windows " This whole thread started because a user wanted to do exactly that. Instead of dismissing real user needs as petty, Fedora chooses to fullfill them. Blind advocacy isn't going to be useful.
