Yes, I also remember that. Some one told me privately, you can NOT fix a mounted zFS file. well, according to that announcement this is now possible: "zFS is planned to provide the ability for a system programmer, with appropriate authority, to initiate an online salvage of a zFS aggregate in order to repair a damaged file system while the file system is still mounted." Other goodies I also see on the link you kindly posted: WLM has something so you can better utilize your 4 hour rolling average for WLC. DFSMS gives you ability to encrypt your datasets without changing your applications. ... following above, individual files in zFS can also be encrypted. ... but encrypting of Coupling Datasets.... thats somewhat hard for me to swallow, because potential overhead, but hey, it can't be that bad. ;-) More RACF goodies, too many to list. Support for PDS member extended statistics in ISPF is planned to be improved. SCRT is planned to be included as a component of z/OS. ... and this is an eye-opener: "New support in JES2 is planned to allow an email notification to a user in addition to the current immediate notification. With this support, notifications can be issued to multiple email addresses and filtered based on job return codes."
