We can carve out any size volume we need to, including EAV, though our Storage team prefers to keep to "standard" sizes (excepting EAV). We use and will likely retain m1 for Jes2 Checkpoint and Couple DS. m9 will be used for some system volumes (page, spool) on our small systems. We use m27 for SYSRES and DLIB today and will continue to do so until z/OS outgrows them. We use 2 m54 for SMP/E and other installation data, which we may eventually consolidate onto EAV.
