Many thanks for that pointer.  Just an initial browse shows a lot of 
information and advice.  I especially like the careful description of the move 
long operations, there are good hints there for how to align your data (if you 
can) for best performance.

Please give our thanks to Mr. Shum for pulling this information together for we 
mere programmers.  Most appreciated.
