I apologize to anyone who is not familiar with exaggeration, a figure of speech used for emphasis or humor.
You know, I used to be the CEO of a software company, and as such was ultimately responsible for customer support. It used to drive me nuts when the support people would say "oh, the Jones issue -- turned out there wasn't a problem after all." I would say "wait a minute! You mean there was no software defect. If the customer thinks he has a problem, then there is a problem. If it's not a software defect, then it is that our documentation is unclear, or the salespeople are setting unrealistic expectations. Find out what the problem was, and let's get it fixed." I think that is a message that the defenders of the status quo of SHARE member communication need to consider. I didn't start this thread. The OP came here because he had a problem with SHARE's communication. To deny that there is a problem is logically to say "the SHARE Web site is fine -- it's just that the prospects aren't smart enough to use it." Let's try this another way. Do you think it would maximize Amazon's sales if their Web site was such that people were turning to on-line forums with "I'd like to buy my first book from Amazon. Does anyone have any idea how to go about it?"
