Miklos,

I ordered 1.10 over the Internet. Our z doesn't have direct Internet
connectivity, so I downloaded using the Java applet onto my Linux
desktop. I then used NFS between z/OS and my desktop so that z/OS could
directly read the downloaded files. It worked fairly well for me. And
was easier because I didn't need z/OS DASD to store the downloaded data.
The jobs ran slower, of course, because NFS over a 1Gb ethernet TCPIP
connection is a lot slower than FICON DASD. This was over a year ago, so
my memory is a bit vague. I only mention it so that you know that
somebody else did successfully use NFS for the UNIX resident
installation files.
