Before the issue is corrected, you could use another application to find and copy symbols. I remember that you are already using one. Probably, gnome-characters or gucharmap. If that application does not show the needed symbols, you need to find and install a font that has the glyphs. Trisquel comes with a lot of fonts pre-installed. Google Noto is one of them and it usually has more glyphs than others. As a last resort, you could install font-google-noto package on guix to get the missing glyphs. Google Noto has some issues, but I do not know whether there is a better quality free font for the glyphs that you need. Roman
