Right, I'm using Nova (should've mentioned that, sorry). At the same time, I appreciate the discussion on the communtiy version of lastseen and cfengine.
I've got a ticket open with Cfengine wrt MAX_FD errors raising its ugly head again. This is causing client authentication problems as well, and database files either cannot be opened or they cannot be written to. I'm told there is a file descriptor leak in one of the DB client libraries that cfengine depends upon. The only workaround I know of is to re-start cfengine, but the new processes really don't take long to have this leak rear up again. In an email discussion with support, I learned that there is a new process called "mongod" which is not getting started on my system, and this is responsible for ensuring that lastseen reports are occuring properly (I think?). I was advised to re-bootstrap my server in hopes of repairing the problem... I am currently awaiting the outcome of the bootstrap (said it could take up to 30 minutes to complete). Wish me luck! deb On 1/19/11 7:44 AM, Frans Lawaetz wrote: >> I experienced the same issue running on Solaris 10, cfengine v3.0.5p1. >> Any luck in finding out? > Deb& Jim, I've opened a bug report on this issue if you want to keep > track and/or chime in. > https://cfengine.com/bugtracker/view.php?id=445 > > Deb - I don't know if Nova (which is what I think you use) defaults to > using Tokyocabinet but my last seen database is cf_lastseen.db.
