Thanks Teo.

I've eased on my plans. I'll probably settle with dosbox
for simple Clipper compatibility tests, this is easily
available via MacPorts on OS X.

For more demanding tests like Harbour builds on MS-DOS
host, I'll use dosemu under Linux just like before, I
want to do such thing quite rarely anyway.

In both cases host drive is readily available, so it's
way easier than being locked in a native MS-DOS VM.

Hi All,

I'm looking for a preinstalled FreeDOS in a VMWare VM.

Anybody knows about such thing?

I have MS-DOS running under Linux in DOSEMU, but I'd like
to have one in a separate VM. Can't get through normal
install process.

[ DOSBOX is available for native Mac OS X, but it's
crashing when executing 32-bit DOS PM apps, like
dos-make.exe, at least on the default x86_64 MacPort
build. For plain real-mode Clipper testing, it's okay
though. ]

I've found a couple of related threads on installing msdos 6.22:
