So, if you're looking for the title "Harbour standard" there
is no such thing yet, but even this may change in the future
depending on factors we cannot see in advance. If you're
looking for a working UI solution which is hosted and developed
in our SVN, use hbxbp + hbqt, it's there, it's not a pipe
dream, it's an option.

Viktor, I know I am going to sound like I am nitpicking so after this I will stop.

My first post was mainly aimed at the relative size (in files and MB) of the qt contribution. I also said:

"I suspect that the idea of a standard GUI for Harbour may remain a pipe dream."

Pritpal said:

"I contradict your statement."

I then said, roughly, "show me the standard?".

Then you told me about the various options, and possibilities. I know this, I have been watching the project for 5 or more years.
"It's IMO a wrong question."

I am not asking a question.

You're asking for / talking about a "Harbour standard", where there
cannot be one for several reasons. (at least by my understanding of
the expression "Harbour standard")

Then you're suggesting/asking (to me it could be both by the wording)
that a hb standard GUI is a pipe dream. It may be, but the phrasing
of the first sentence doesn't make sense anyway, so that pipe dream
statement also doesn't make sense IMO.

It's like asking Linux whether it has a standard window manager, or
stating that having a standard window manager in Linux is a pipe dream.
(replace 'window manager' with any other component which isn't part
of SUS or LSB)

I don't like such wording and especially don't agree with it, since it
has a negative connotation suggesting that Harbour won't ever have a
("standard"?) GUI. Which is simply untrue, vague and misses the point.

Harbour actually has a portable GUI right in the source tree, there
to be used.

[ Aside from that, we can go on and discuss what are the reasons it
isn't a "standard", what exactly "standard" means, what are the
prerequisites for something to become "standard" in Harbour, etc. ]

Brgds,
Viktor
