Hi Toninho,
All developers are appreciated to make local builds on all
platforms / compilers and report any testing results to the list
with current SVN.
Hi Viktor.
IMO we need a time for tests because some 3rd party libs are not
binary compatible and recompile it need time.
I for example, use FWH and I can´t use current SVN. I contact Antonio
Linares and he tell me to wait a new FWH release.
Okay, I hope this will be done quick. I don't think it would
be very good to put Harbour on hold while all 3rd parties
can create a new (at least test) release. This is rc1 anyway,
which leaves some time for preparation until final release.
If we release rc1 in binary ASAP it would also help 3rd
parties to make tests.
[ BTW, for 3rd parties it's now a good opportunity to check
their code with 'set HB_USER_CFLAGS=-DHB_LEGACY_OFF' to see if
there is anything else that could be done to source code. ]
Although, since we're aren't compatible anyway, it seems now
a good time to make other such changes if we have something that
can be done relatively quickly. We had some discussions in the
past which required new pcodes.
Brgds,
Viktor
