Note that machine translations clearly have been used in some of the
translations of our Guix website, Guix manual.

Machine translated texts are very unlikely to violate copyright, like
LLMs.  Machine translation has similar training data to generative LLMs,
not all of which is redistributable (some is, like government
documents and old books).

It is hard to police; I only notice when the rate of contributions is
unbelievable (or was the translation just submitted all at once?) or
when the quality is so low that I see it in foreign languages.  Mostly
quality is okay.
