Hello Caleb, may I suggest to stop the discussion here on whether we should or should not leave GNU, and in particular not cc Richard Stallman on a non-issue? As far as I can tell, you brought up this "maybe Guix will leave GNU" question out of the blue; there is currently no motion to do so. And as said, no discussion on guix-devel except for your message... Concerning the completely unrelated technical questions you bring up such as Wayland vs. X11 or ext4 vs. btrfs, they could also be the subject of GCDs, but probably do not even need a decision. If you or someone else does the work and adds them as options to the installer, say, then I am convinced that would be accepted. Andreas
