Sigh, I've just found out the 4.8 produces bad HTML output because an
undocumented feature (which groff.texinfo urgently needs) has
disappeared.  Saying `make groff.html' within the `doc' subdirectory
now postprocesses the output with a small sed script to get the
correct result.
