Well the issue is that the text doesn't fit your bars. We don't have any magic option that will simply autofit the text size, and even if we did, it would fail in the exact way that you just outlined: if the bars become too small, the text would be too small. An alternative solution would be to always put the full text in the bar, regardless of whether it fits or not. We currently do not have that option either. You can file a feature request for the solution that best suits your needs.
