Could be. But with another Lars or Lolly Pop waiting in the wings to
claim the prize, first may not be worth playing for each week. I speak
from experience :)

Much better idea than automatic progression!

And we set a limit of one beginner prize (unlimited veteran prizes, but
only one allowed by using one's *alien* powers).

Thanks, Dave. I promoted myself when I caught myself watching the
veteran leaderboard in TPR(0,2) to see where I would stack up. I was
unable to keep up this round, but there is always next month.

Let people play where they want to with no restrictions (except prizes).
Want to be king of a small pond? Play against your neighbors' 5 year old
(must be non-alien). But let's keep the overhead down.

If newbies can't play with beginners (because they aren't happy to be
far behind), maybe we can set up a non-refereed driving range with no
prizes and no review (simple test script only). Andrew can post a 5,000
to get things started. Bowling can take place :) Anything goes. Hit a
good shot? Go ahead and post your score. Ashamed at your lack of Perl
skill (even though you can outshine people in other ways), then use a
pseudonym! Let's see... Lolly Pop, pizza milkshake, MeowChow, MtvEurope.
Everyone does it!

Having fun is the name of the game. Remember we got kicked off the other
list for having *too much* fun :)
