Perhaps a better way to do it would be through community pressure.  Would it
be possible for our favorite Canadian to highlight those beginners with a
"significantly" low Y-index so that they would be easily recognizable on the
LoG?

That way, it would be clear to everyone that they were out of place and we
could post humorous (but firm) requests for them to move up with the big
boys.  If that is acceptable to Yanick, I think it might help the situation
and prevent the addition of yet another category (newbies) that would end up
with too much disparity.

BTW, here are Perl Golf's three most wanted beginners.  According to the LoG
(which does not include TPR(0,3) data), all three have normalized Y-indexes
of -4.

Zephyr "the snake" McLaughlin
Rafael "el ladrón" Garcia-Suarez
Philippe "le renard" Bricout

Congrats to Michael Wrenn for promoting himself during TPR(0,3).
