It's interesting to see the quotes from Costa. Am I correct that this is a
very rare, if not unique, occurrence of him "calling out" the racism that is
occasionally thrown his way?
Thanks for sharing this...

Not everything is rosy for António Costa in Portugal. There are racists who
hate this Prime Minister, son of Goan.
"The teachers' protest is part of freedom and democracy, only journalists find
it strange that there are protests. It is part of democracy", said António
Costa, while trying to maintain a dialogue with a teacher, after the military
ceremony of the of Portugal, Camões and the Portuguese Communities, António
Costa walked the route from Avenida do Douro to the place chosen for lunch,
always being followed by many teachers who shouted, among other slogans,
"respect". The same message was written on the posters, on some of which it was
also possible to read "resignation" and see the image of the prime minister
with two pencils in his eyes and a pig's nose. Booed by the teachers, the prime
minister was, however, cherished by many popular people who told him: "welcome
to the Douro", "we are here to support you" and "Régua is with you".
"I feel very good in the Douro and throughout the country", he pointed out,
again insisting that the background noise that accompanied him "is a right of
demonstration".
"With better taste, with worse taste, with these slightly racist posters, but
that's it, that's life", he stressed.
