Good question! 

Yes, I do feel that the operating system & version plays a role in this
situation. 

If Dragos were to use a currently supported version of Windows AND a
currently supported version of GNUCash, then it would make identifying &
addressing any issues much easier by reducing the number of variables
involved. 

I try to go over the options, as I understand them, but without knowing
the basics (operating system & version #, GNUCash version number,
description of issue, & so on), it makes reproducing the issues
described MUCH more difficult. 

It seems like Dragos is having to work much harder to hold together a
computing situation that does not work well because Windows 7 is such an
old and unsupported OS. 

How that OS issue is resolved is up to Dragos, but I think that it is
super important to point that out and note the options that I know of.
