Hi Mark/GNUCash users, Good question!
Yes, I do feel that the operating system & version plays a role in this situation. If Dragos were to use a currently supported version of Windows AND a currently supported version of GNUCash, then it would make identifying & addressing any issues much easier by reducing the number of variables involved. I try to go over the options, as I understand them, but without knowing the basics (operating system & version #, GNUCash version number, description of issue, & so on), it makes reproducing the issues described MUCH more difficult. It seems like Dragos is having to work much harder to hold together a computing situation that does not work well because Windows 7 is such an old and unsupported OS. How that OS issue is resolved is up to Dragos, but I think that it is super important to point that out and note the options that I know of. --- Thanks, Brad - https://www.facebook.com/brad.morrison.12327/ & https://nextdoor.com/profile/01mP46jj8KCzj3sP4 & https://norcal.social/@BradMorrison On 2025-05-25 11:04, Mark Penner wrote: > May 25, 2025 05:50:23 Brad Morrison <bradmorri...@sonic.net>: > >> Hi Dragos/GNUCash users, >> >> What version of Windows are you using? >> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Windows > > Brad, I don't think the version of Windows is relevant to this problem, do > you? > > I understand you're trying to help, but sometimes asking about versions and > dumping info about them just creates noise that makes it harder to get to the > root of the problem.
