Had it been clear what was meant was a NOUN (a field labelled "action")
I would not have proceeded to give a logical description of the entry of
a "split" transaction by describing entry of a transaction in Journal
mode (using the pen and ink description noting differences to gnucash,
and giving the example ACTION post/save/enter. And then asking what
ACTION was intended for individual lines. We could, for example discuss
EDITING a transaction.
This is not the only instance where what gnucash calls something can
cause confusion.
