And I answered. I don't see this as any different from a Linux user (say, of Ubuntu) asking for an update to the repository, only to be advised to speak with the purveyor of the package management software.
In fact, Windows users have it better insofar as the latest version is packaged by the GnuCash dev team and provided on gnucash.org, rather than the Linux user who is at the mercy of package manager groups, who seem much less likely to have the most recent binary available.
