GnuCash is run and maintained by volunteers. I'm betting that the person who maintains the webspace (GnuCash.org) will update the main page during the next few days. I am very grateful for the effort the volunteers expend. I am not one of the developers, but I've been known to spend time trying to replicate bugs, which has helped John Ralls find a few bugs, including Bug #799423. https://bugs.gnucash.org/show_bug.cgi?id=799423 Again, I'm very grateful for all the work the volunteers put forward, and I realize that sometimes the main page is not updated as quickly as some might desire.
