Yes, that is the alternative - but it would be easier to create a directory
for these working files and then just exclude that directory.

Yes, I know about the auto-purge, and have it set... but because I'm using
a Sync style backup, the backup media keeps any file ever copied to it, so
it has files going back a long time (well, "had", as I cleaned out the
backup media)
