Hi Bob,
sorry for the late reply but some of us were in vacations.
Could you please run a "gdalinfo" against your sample file and provide us the
output?

Cheers,
Daniele

Subject: [Geoserver-users] jp2 images will not load

I am having problems with jpeg2000 support (GeoServer 2.6x on Windows 7). I
have tried to follow the instructions on:
http://docs.geoserver.org/latest/en/user/data/raster/gdal.html

I installed the GDAL extension, placed the files in WEB-INF/lib directory of
GeoServer

I downloaded the gdal-data.zip from
http://demo.geo-solutions.it/share/github/imageio-ext/releases/1.1.X/1.1.10/native/gdal/,
-The instruction said to place these in “a proper directory”, I’m not sure what
is proper. I created a C:\gdal-data folder for it.
-I then added this to the GDAL_DATA environment variable

Then I downloaded the native libraries:
http://demo.geo-solutions.it/share/github/imageio-ext/releases/1.1.X/1.1.10/native/gdal/windows/
-I used the MSVC2010, but to be honest I am not sure that is the right one.
But, again I extracted this to C:\msvc2010, then I put that folder in my PATH.

I rebooted the machine. When I try to add a raster store, I see an option for
JP2k (Direct). So when I try to create a new store with that, the following
error message appears:

Could not list layers for this store, an error occurred retrieving them: Failed
to create reader from
file:C:\mapserver_data\wms_raster_data\augusta_man_08\tiles\19TDJ290855.jp2 and
hints null

Can anyone advise me on this?
