Hi, I'm trying to get Geoserver (latest stable) running on XAMPP 1.8.2 and Tomcat 7 (as bundled) on Windows 7 64 bit.
I am not interested in the all in one installation as it does not suit our requirements. I have tried to load the war file through the Tomcat Manager-Gui but I get a file too big error. So, I copied the war file to .../tomcat/webapps/ and restarted tomcat. It still fails to deploy. Currently the first error is: "SEVERE: Exception sending context initialized event to listener instance of class org.geoserver.platform.GeoServerContextLoaderListener java.lang.RuntimeException: java.io.FileNotFoundException: security\config.xml (The system cannot find the file specified)" Now, under the newly created geoserver directory there are the following data/ META-INF WEB-INF index.html Under ./data/ there is a "security" folder with config.xml in it. So why cant the geoserver application find it? Is there a setting I'm missing? Why is this so hard?
