If the sound hasn't worked before either, like this is a new build or something, I'd look for some sound program, that you may not know is even installed, and check for Firefox being muted. I've ran into this more than a few times. Everything defaults to mute. When I built this new rig, I ran into the same thing. Software that I never use had to be unmuted. Some are not so easy to find either. One was console based. I tend to set ones I don't use to a setting that works for everything then close them, hoping they stay unmuted and set. It may be something else but it sure sounds like, or doesn't sound like depending on how you want to view it, that Firefox is muted. Than again, maybe Facebook just doesn't like Firefox.
