Hmm. Seems you have the ebuild for the latest (as of today) version, as I do, but when you try to use the ebuild, emerge isn't finding it.
Do you have an alternative PORTDIR defined in /etc/portage/make.conf or anywhere else? The default is /usr/portage, according to both of my systems.
