This is my gentoo.conf in /etc/portage/repos.conf/. [DEFAULT] main-repo = gentoo [gentoo] location = /var/cache/portage/tree sync-type = rsync sync-uri = rsync://rsync26.us.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage I don't know about git, yet. I think if you replace the contents of gentoo.conf with what Joost replied with, that should do it. I'm not sure if anything else has to be changed. I do seem to recall there being a howto on the Gentoo wiki tho. I recall someone posting a link on here at some point, or maybe it was -dev. Dale :-) :-)
