I do this thing:
cmdline
eix-sync ; emerge --update --newuse --deep --with-bdeps=y --tree --keep-going 
--backtrack=30 -v --verbose-conflicts screen @world


[DEFAULT]
main-repo = gentoo

[gentoo]
location = /usr/portage
sync-type = rsync
sync-uri = rsync://rsync.europe.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage
