Have you been paying attention to the tech news the past few months?  See for
example https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SourceForge#Controversies, in particular
the part about project hijacking.

That article links to various sources, for example this statement by the NMap
project: http://seclists.org/nmap-dev/2015/q2/194.  Supposedly SF.net stopped
the "project mirroring", but it'll take a lot of work from them to repair the
damage their actions have done to their reputation, if that's at all
achievable.

Take away from the above what you will, but I don't trust SourceForge anymore.
