I also suffer from this, every 30 to 35 days, xorg just locks up and only the mouse will respond, its doing my head in now. I had this with the standard nvidia drivers, then I tried the nv driver that comes with xorg and it still did it, ive now tried to disable AGP completely in the kernel to see if that will work, although there is a considerable speed difference, i'm willing to suffer if it works. I'm now 10 days in, so we will see in 25 days if it works or not :( Actually, the last time xorg locked with the nv driver, I could still use my keyboard to switch to a terminal, in the past, the keyboard would not work at all and I had to ssh in to the box to kill xorg. -- gentoo-user@gentoo.org mailing list
