Simple users don't play with ebuilds, others are well capable of adjusting 
their "habits".

Where he meant a combination of "prefix" and "1" EAPIs, which is prefix 
specific.

Nowhere that I am aware of, but [A-Za-z0-9-_] sounds reasonable to me.
