Paludis is not a Gentoo project. There is no disagreement there. This discussion is about PMS, not Paludis. As for "hosted on Gentoo infrastructure" and "controlled by Gentoo", I'd like to point you to other projects that started out the same way: * eselect, a Gentoo project * devmanual, a Gentoo project * the Gentoo forums Note that the first two also had initial non-public restricted releases in the same style being used for PMS, and both ended up benefiting greatly from it.
