But this isn't about upgrading Qt, it's about the packages that depend on it. If you change deps from >=qt-3.0 to =qt-3.3 then nobody will be able to work with a Qt dependant package until they upgrade Qt. In the same regard, there are people still using Apache1 whom we aren't forcing to upgrade to Apache2 just so they can use some of the apache modules. Also, another downside to the =qt-3.3 approach is that it doesn't cleanly handle the cases of ">=qt-3.3.2-r1". -- gentoo-dev@gentoo.org mailing list
