Well, this is something worth a double check then. In the incubator release checklist document [1] it explicitly mentions "Do release files have the word incubating in their name?", and we need to clarify whether that means the tar file only or binary files inside also.
Checking the jars deployed onto the maven repo, we could see those with incubating in their names (such as Spark [2] and Flink [3] in their old times, or Livy [4] and Paimon [5] still under incubation) and those without. So it seems the standard is not aligned. For me, include "incubating" in the jar file name could better remind our users that they are using something still under apache incubation, no matter where they get the binaries from, which has similar effect as the DISCLAIMER file in the tar ball. However, if this is *confirmed* to be only nice-to-have rather than required, I could withdraw my -1, and I'd suggest to document the standard more explicitly in our release checklist.
