I like this idea, except putting the full responsibility of finding new mentors on the shoulders of the podling. Asking for mentors is easy getting a response seems to be difficult for the smaller projects. Don't forget we voted and accepted the podling, so we have at least part of the responsibility for making mentors available I am very much afraid it will endanger our smaller less popular projects. In order to stay "safe" this requires at least 3 mentors at all times in order not to block the podling...3 mentors are surely ok for bigger project, but a bit overkill for small ones.
