OK,I get your concern now. I had assumed that mentors would not agree to a
non-IPMC champion who is not ready.

Further, it was stated that the champion need not be a mentor.

The role of the champion is nothing more than a coordination role, it
doesn't require any specific skills other than to understand what needs top
go in a board report and when. Until graduation mentors are still available
to guide.

Perhaps the proposal needs to make it explicit that the initial champion is
the one to call a vote for the first non-IPMC champion and that this is am
important step on the road to graduation.
