Can someone please address the following questions? Assuming the Apache DB PMC approves Axion as a new subproject:
1) Other than the attribution of copyright to the ASF, the switch to the ASL, and the submission of a signed CLA for those that haven't already done so, what specfic criteria/goals need to be met in order to succesfully complete incubation? I.e., how do we know when it is time to call for a vote on "graduation"? 2) What timeframe can we expect this to happen in? E.g., assuming "confirm that the community has adopted the Apache voting rules and is otherwise following the Apache guidelines" is one such criterion, and that the Axion team believes this criterion to be already met, what/how long does it take to complete this step? Is someone from the incubator going to poke through the [VOTE] threads in the archives? Is there some period of time that the incubator will need to "observe" the project in action? The <http://incubator.apache.org/process.html> page notes some, primarily legal, requirements for exiting the incubator, but leaves open some questions that need to be addressed, at least in part, by the incubator PMC itself. Notably, "2. The expected timeframe that the podling will stay in the incubator. This is determined by mutual consent among the community of the podling, the graduation PMC of the project to which the codebase and community will move at the end of incubation (if any), and the Incubator PMC." and "3. The "graduation requirements" for leaving the Incubator. Basically, what are the pre-defined goals that must be met before the podling can leave the Incubator?"
