Dear Hossam,
I translated some strings yesterday, but didn't find any change or activity.
Just want to make sure system is working, and you received the
review request.
BTW, how to find previously translated strings of oneself? I cannot
see them anywhere in the account.
Also, do you have priorities for translations? As of now, it seems
the search is being displayed alphabetically. Should I select specific
'component' items from the menu?
Thank you,
Mohamed

Subject: [general] Translation Moodle 2.0: more info
To: "[General]" <general@arabeyes.org>
Assalamo Alaykum,
Thanks for the quick respons Ahmed, that's what I was expecting.
Here are some more info about Moodle and how to translate it:
*What is Moodle?*
Moodle <http://moodle.org/> is a free and open source Vritual Learning
Environment <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual_learning_environment> used
by almost 50,000 sites, and more than 35 million user spreading over 210
countries all over the world * <http://moodle.org/stats/>.
*Version 2.0 needs translation*
The new major version of moodle, 2.0, is to be released in early
november<http://docs.moodle.org/en/Roadmap#Version_2.0>,
and the Arabic language is 49%
completed<http://download.moodle.org/langpack/2.0/>.
(exactly 7863 string out of 15845).
I'm the Arabic language pack
maintainer<http://docs.moodle.org/en/Translation_credits#Arabic>now,
and unfortunatly I'm working by myself.
*How to contribute?*
This is how you get involved ! :
- Create an account on the language pack
portal<http://lang.moodle.org/login/signup.php>
.
- Access AMOS, the Moodle 2.0 translation tool, via the link in the
navigation block.
- Begin translating Moodle 2.0:
- Use AMOS translator interface to translate missing strings of amend the
current translation
- Go to the Stage page
- Save the current content of the stage into a new stash. You should
already know that stash is a snapshot of the current stage.
- Go to Stashes page
- Press the button "Pull request" next to the stash you want to submit to
the maintainers
- Wait for the message from the maintainer
Regards
