Really? You read everything that is linked  from
http://gcc.gnu.org/contribute.html ? (and that doesn't explain for
example how to create testcases). Anyway, I never said that nobody
will be able to learn to program by reading the ISO C standard. I am
sure there are people like that out there. They are not the majority,
though.

About your idea, I will rather prefer to be taught how to do it and
for people to have patience when I make a mistake (but point it out
nonetheless so I can correct it). But, yes, perhaps people that are
going to submit one or two patches cannot be bothered. Can't speak
about that, it is not my case.
