I hope that in the second sentence here, when you say 'PowerPC
community', you are using that only as an abbreviation for 'PowerPC
GNU/Linux community'.

That is, if the patches turn out to break powerpc-aix, or
powerpc-darwin, the release will be held until that is resolved.
Otherwise I also object to putting such a change in so late in the
process.
