I have a patch for 4.4 which bootstraps and passes regression testing on i686-linux and powerpc64-linux. It also bootstraps on armv5tel-linux-gnueabi (the platform for which I want this fix) with Ramana's workaround reverted, but the test suite is not yet finished; it should be done around midnight today.
