Hi Dark: Agreed. I purchased Trek 2000 from GMA, and I personally don't care in the least that I paid for it years ago and now it is free. On the contrary I am glad I no longer have to put a product key in the game, and I can just install it as is. I wish more developers would do that when they abandon their commercial projects rather than just taking them down. I certainly do not feel cheated in the slightest.
Of course, one reason I don't feel cheated is that happens all the time in the mainstream world. There have been times I have gone to a store, bought something, and a few months later I see that very same item marked down in price, on sale, or in the clearance section for a lot less than I paid for it. There is no reason to get upset or angry with the store or the manufacturer. The item was either discontinued or they got a newer item to replace it and now they marked it down to get rid of it. The same concept applies to audio games except the developer has decided to give it away for free rather than selling it for a reduced price. Cheers!
