Recently a snarky podcaster was noting re: Caroline Leavitt leaving her
post abruptly that somehow folks in those roles, of that ilk almost
constitutionally cannot tell the truth, that somehow doing so, even on
the smallest issue, would throw them off their game of "clever lies".
Reminds me of the correspondent's dinner comic (2017ish?) slam against
HuckaSans about using the smoke from all her burning lies as mascara or
eye shadow..
An SF author once pointed out that in Fantasy, everything you know to be
true is up for grabs and in SF, only one thing (e.g. time travel, FTL
...) is presumed to be overturned and the story/work emerges from that
difference?
