ironic that this was almost precisely my observation during the Jan 6
insurrection... and got a brush-back.
I've a friend who was a National Guardsman at Kent State... he wasn't
present for the shooting but was there for the operation and remembers
acutely how bizarre it was to have one line of 18 year olds pitted
against another. His side had live ammo, the other side had daisies to
put in the gun barrels ( not a Kent State 1970 moment, but of the era
1967 and spirit).
