The Onion Says It Has Bought Infowars, Alex Jones’s Site, Out of Bankruptcy https://www.nytimes.com/2024/11/14/business/media/alex-jones-infowars-the-onion.html?unlocked_article_code=1.Z04.Wiwi.UMUgUSO1vzUW&smid=url-share

Mary's son who lives in Austin was passed over (came in second) for a job as a writer at the Onion  (decade+ ago) which lead him to take a job editing bills at the State Legislature... he's well read, very progressive and generally as Lefty as you can be with those qualities.   He is also a very capable critical thinker/writer.

I sent a pic of the Onion/Jones diptych and suggested he grow a beard and unlimber his best snark (he has some great snark) and re-apply for a job.    He is very angry about the arc of TX as well as US politics and I think he could channel that into an on-air presence that would do justice to Jones' affect.  Though the massive cortisol rushes might shorten his life... he's mid 40s.

It was probably a disservice... he might go for it.
